Ordinary flat glass

Ordinary flat glass, also known as window glass. Flat glass has properties such as transparency, heat insulation, sound insulation, wear resistance, and resistance to climate change. Some also have characteristics such as insulation, heat absorption, and radiation resistance, making it widely used in embedded building doors and windows, walls, and interior decoration.

The specifications of flat glass are usually divided into 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, and 6mm based on thickness, and there are also 8mm and 10mm produced. Generally, 2mm and 3mm thick ones are suitable for civil buildings, while 4mm-6mm thick ones are used for industrial and high-rise buildings.

The defects that affect the quality of flat glass mainly include bubbles, stones, and ripples. Bubbles are hidden voids in the glass body, which are generated due to improper handling during the cooling stage of the manufacturing process. Stones, commonly known as lumps, also known as sand particles, are solid inclusions present in glass, which are the most dangerous defects in the glass body. They not only damage the appearance and optical uniformity of glass products, but also greatly reduce the mechanical strength and thermal stability of glass products, and even cause them to self shatter,Glass product   .

characteristic

Good flat glass products should have the following characteristics:

1) It is colorless and transparent or slightly light green

2) The thickness of the glass should be uniform and the size should be standardized

3) There are no or few defects such as bubbles, stones, ripples, scratches, etc.

When purchasing glass, users can first place two pieces of glass flat together to make them match each other. When opening, if a lot of force is used, it indicates that the glass is very flat

In addition, it is necessary to carefully observe whether there are bubbles, stones, ripples, scratches, etc. in the glass. Good quality glass should be kept at a distance of 60 centimeters, and the backlight line should be observed with the naked eye. There should be no large or concentrated bubbles, no missing corners or cracks, and the maximum angle of ripples and lines on the glass surface should not exceed 45 degrees; Scratches and sand particles should be minimized.

If glass is stored in a damp place for a long time, a layer of white cloud will form on the surface, which greatly reduces the transparency of the glass. Care should be taken when selecting it
