Glazed glass

Glazed glass is made by coating a layer of colored and fusible colored glaze on the surface of the glass, heating it until the glaze melts, firmly bonding the glaze layer with the glass, and annealing or tempering treatment. It has good chemical stability and decorative properties, and is suitable for exterior wall finishes of buildings. Glass product   ,

Colorful fusible glaze

Glazed glass refers to a glass with beautiful colors or patterns made by applying a layer of colored fusible glaze on the surface of a cut glass of a certain size, and processing it through sintering, annealing, or tempering to firmly bond the glaze layer with the glass.

Production of Glass Glaze

The production of glazed glass includes processes such as the production of colored glaze, glazing, drying, heating, quenching or annealing, and cooling.

production

The production of glass colored glaze consists of two basic materials: base glaze and pigment, which are powders made from fusible glass frits; Pigment is an inorganic coloring substance, which can be a Inorganic compound or several Inorganic compound, and is made by grinding, mixing, sintering and then grinding into powder in a certain proportion.

(1) Base glaze

The function of base glaze is to highly disperse inorganic pigments and melt them on the surface of the glass substrate at a lower temperature, dissolving them with the substrate to form a whole; When the base glaze melts, inorganic pigments with strong coloring ability dye it into colored glass, which combines with the glass substrate to form a colorful glazed glass as a whole.

The process performance requirements of base glaze: the melting temperature is low and can melt on the surface of the glass substrate before it softens; It has good chemical stability and luster, and does not react with inorganic pigments, neither causing changes in the color of the inorganic pigments themselves; The expansion coefficient is very close to that of the glass substrate, and the glaze does not crack or shrink when the temperature changes.

(2) Pigment

Pigment is a type of metal oxide or compound, which can also be made by grinding, mixing, sintering, washing, filtering, drying, and grinding several metal oxides or compounds in a certain ratio to form fine powder.

The sintering temperature and time of various colors of pigments, including metal oxides and mild metals, vary depending on the pigments used.

The dispersion of pigments during use is closely related to their particle size. The smaller the particle size, the greater the dispersion (usually less than 5 particles) ц m)

Glazing of glass

(1) Spray coating method

Mix the glaze slurry or glaze powder with a medium to a certain concentration of slurry, and introduce the magnetic slurry and compressed air into the spray gun. The slurry atomizes into particles and should be sprayed onto the glass surface at a certain speed, which can be divided into manual spraying method and mechanical continuous spraying method.

(2) Curtain method

The curtain method uses gravity to flow viscous colored glaze from the air above the glass substrate to the upper surface of the substrate. The glass substrate passes under the colored glaze slurry flowing down from the curtain, and a thin layer of colored glaze slurry is coated on it.

The curtain method consists of a roller conveyor, a slit funnel, a recycling tank, a color glaze slurry mixer, and an oil slurry tank.

(3) Roller coating method
Roller coating method is the principle of transplanting roller printing technology, which uses rubber rollers to apply thick colored glaze to the surface of glass substrates.

(4) Screen printing method
This method involves transplanting screen printing technology and modern textile technology, using a screen printing machine to coat one or more colored glazes on a glass substrate using glaze slurry.
The screen is made of Synthetic fiber or stainless steel wire.

(5) Stamping method
This method uses an elastic soft material to carve a seal into a landscape pattern, which is coated with a layer of colored glaze paste and then printed on a clean glass substrate.

(6) Color drawing method
Manual drawing (small production scale and low efficiency)

(7) Transfer paper method
It is an extension and extension of the screen printing method. It is the process of printing complex landscape patterns of multiple colors on a specific paper using downstream printing. When using it, water is used as a binder, and it is pasted onto a clean glass substrate, dried, and then heated.

desiccation
After the glass is glazed, the glaze layer must be dried before proceeding to the next step of the process. The drying process can be selected based on the glazing process and production scale, including natural drying, chamber electric drying, and continuous electric drying.

Heating and cooling
According to different production methods, the process and equipment used for equal heating and cooling of glazed glass are as follows:
The process of tempering in this method is to transfer the dried glass sheets after glaze application into a tempering heating furnace and heat them to 670-715 ℃, then quickly move them into an air shed for quenching.
The process of semi tempering method is to transfer the dried glass sheets after glaze application into a heating furnace to heat them to a certain temperature, and then transfer them into a cooling chamber for controlled cooling.

The heating annealing method is to place the dried glass sheets after glaze application into a continuous roller heating furnace, and then preheat, heat, anneal, and cool them in the kiln to make glazed glass. The highest temperature in the kiln is 670-715 ℃, and then annealing and cooling are carried out according to a certain temperature system.
