Is it easy to reflect light when shooting glass products? Teach you 4 lighting techniques

1. Pure light background

The light background is characterized by strong reflective ability. You can use the direct light from the front (don't hit the glass directly). The direct light will reflect on the white background and illuminate the glass. The glass will be very transparent.

If it is possible to use a transparent plexiglass still stage, you can also fill the light at the bottom and rear of the object, which can make the contour line under the cup more obvious,   glass cookware   .

2. Solid dark background

Dark background is characterized by almost no reflection of light. Therefore, you need to use a flash softbox to light from both sides or at the top, and then place reflective panels on both sides to outline the white outline of the top and both sides.

However, you may need to adjust the angle and orientation of the light source several times to control the number of white edges to obtain the best shooting effect.

3. Gradient background with light in the middle and dark around

The gradient background effect of light in the middle and dark around is similar to the pure light background in the light distribution method,

It is a front main light source, plus an auxiliary light source in the lower rear direction. The difference is that a pure light background needs a front scattering light source, while a gradient background needs a cluster light source, and the background is far away from the main body to form a central bright area.

By adjusting the distance from the front main light to the background, you can change the brightness and "diffusion" range of the central highlight area, and control the size of the gradient area to achieve the desired shooting effect.

Still pay attention to that problem. Any light source that comes from the front cannot be directly hit on the glass, otherwise there will be strong reflection.

Do you think it's more troublesome? If you have a soft light box, you can shoot the light source directly from the back to the front, and you can also shoot a very natural light and shade gradient background effect without worrying about reflection.

4. Interlaced color background

There is an important technique in glassware photography, that is, adding liquid into the cup. Glassware itself is colorless and transparent. Adding liquid of various colors can make the picture more colorful.

In addition, different liquid textures, such as clear water, turbid beer, and juice with many suspended particles, can create a completely different atmosphere. You can try more.

The staggered color background light distribution method needs the assistance of liquid.

The specific method is to select a black non-reflective base plate, put two pieces of background paper with different colors at a distance from the object, splice them together, make the spliced gap center, and use lighting; At the same time, the glass will be shot from the back and down, and shot from the front.

The part of the cup body containing liquid has the effect of blocking the line of sight, covering the seam between the two background plates; In addition, the liquid is also "stained" with different colors by the background plate, and the visual effect is quite strange.

In addition to still life photography for commodity display purposes, staggered color backgrounds are also often used in creative photography.

In creative photography, the key to shooting is to find the most appropriate shooting angle by using clearly defined interlaced color backgrounds and matching glass goblets filled with liquid.

Due to the refraction, the color of the liquid in the cup becomes colorful, and the color distribution is often opposite to the background color. The picture effect is also very interesting.
