How to use glass cookware more safely

For office workers, glass cookware is not easy to change color due to long-term heating and use, and it is not easy to produce peculiar smell, which has become the choice of many people who bring meals. However, from time to time there will be news of explosions due to improper use, heating or collisions.

According to the manager of the product training department, the common glass on the market can be roughly divided into three categories: ordinary glass, tempered glass, and heat-resistant glass. It is not recommended to put ordinary glass and tempered glassware into a microwave oven for heating, which is likely to cause safety hazards.

Heat-resistant glass can withstand sudden changes in cold and heat, why does it break? Huang Dapeng explained that if the glassware is shaken during use, small cracks that cannot be seen with the naked eye are generated inside the glassware, which affects the stability of the structure. When subjected to external forces, it may break.

Therefore, pay attention to the following items in daily use:

1. When placed in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator, the volume should not exceed 2/3 of the container; the glassware should not be filled with liquids such as juice, broth, milk, porridge, etc. in a closed or semi-closed state. 2. When heating in the microwave, be sure to open the lid. 3. Use the steamer cautiously. The pressure of the steamer easily reacts with heat-resistant glass, causing fine cracks in the glassware. 4. Avoid using steel wire balls when cleaning, and avoid using hard objects such as steel spoons to hit glassware to avoid damage.
