Instructions for purchasing float glass

The process of float production is completed in a tin bath filled with protective gas. Molten glass continuously flows into and floats on the surface of relatively dense tin liquid from the tank kiln. Under the action of gravity and surface tension, the glass liquid spreads and spreads on the tin liquid surface, forming a flat upper and lower surface, hardening, and cooling before being led up to the transition roller table. The rollers of the roller table rotate, pulling the glass strip out of the tin bath and entering the annealing furnace.

What aspects should be noted when purchasing float glass

Float glass is an advanced flat glass produced using the float process, and there are also some products with poor workmanship during the production process. Therefore, we should also pay more attention when selecting float glass. What should I pay attention to when choosing float glass,Glass product   ?

When purchasing float glass, attention should be paid to the following aspects

1. Color: High quality should be colorless, transparent, or light green.

2. The surface of the glass should not have any indelible attachments.

3. The thickness should be uniform and consistent. The thickness deviation of the same piece of glass should be less than 0.2-0.3 millimeters.

4. There should be no cracks, and there should be no obvious defects at the edges.

Observing by light, no tin, pits, inclusions, wires, or grinding marks are allowed. Within a half square meter area, there should be no bubbles with a diameter of more than 2 millimeters, and bubbles with a diameter of about 1 millimeter should be few and not centrally distributed; When observed in a certain direction, there should be no more than two optical distortion points that may cause optical distortion. If there are ripples, objects within 4-5 meters should not deform when viewed through the glass at 30 degrees. In addition, the appearance defects of bubbles, pits, sand particles, and light distortion points on the same piece of glass cannot be concentrated at the same time, and the minimum distance between them should be at least 10 centimeters or more.
