Hurricane cocktail was invented in Pat O'Brien's Bar in New Orleans in the 1940s, glass cookware .
During the war, because the distillers were used to produce medical alcohol for the military, the supply of high-quality whisky and gin in the United States was severely compressed, but a large amount of rum was imported from the Caribbean. So the dealer forced the bar owner to buy a lot of rum before buying whisky.
As Shelly Waguespak, the owner of Pat O'Brien's Bar, said, hurricanes were invented to solve the problem of excess rum. This bar is still continuously supplying Hurricane cocktails, which can sell more than 500000 cups every year.
