Three Processes of Etching and Silk Printing on Glass Products

There are three processes for etching silk screen printing on glass products, namely glass ice silk screen printing, frosted silk screen printing, ion exchange coloring and matting silk screen printing. Among them, ice silk screen printing is commonly known as orange peel pattern, which is actually very small low-melting glass particles. This kind of small glass particles, with high lead content, has two kinds of color and colorless, Glass product    .

Ice flower decoration, simple and elegant, is mostly used for architectural glass decoration and arts and crafts glass decoration, such as the decoration of high-grade glassware, lamps and so on.

Its process is to first screen-print a colored or colorless glass flux layer (flux) on the surface of the glass, and then sprinkle the frosted glass particles on this layer of glass flux. Through sintering at 500-590 °C, the flux layer and the ice particle layer on the glass surface are eutectic to produce a relief effect. For example, the colored flux is silk-screened on the glass, and the tiny ice flowers are transparent. Through high temperature eutectic, the flux layer of the glass ice pattern part will fade, and a colored and raised transparent relief pattern will be formed on the glass surface.

As for frosting, a certain area of glass-colored glaze powder is adhered to the finished glass. After baking at a high temperature of 580-600 °C, the glass-colored glaze coating is melted on the surface of the glass, and shows a different color from the main body of the glass. a method of decoration. Adhesion to glass-colored glaze powder can be applied with a brush or a rubber roller. Through silk screen processing, the hollow pattern of the frosted surface can be obtained.

The method is to screen-print a layer of patterns formed by a melting inhibitor on the surface of the glass product. After the printed patterns are air-dried, frosting is performed. Then after high temperature baking, the frosted surface where there is no pattern pattern will melt on the glass surface, and the place where the silk screen pattern is due to the effect of the melt inhibitor, the sand surface covered on the pattern cannot be fused on the glass surface.

After baking, the transparent floor-space pattern is revealed through the translucent sand surface, forming a special decorative effect. Frosted screen printing melt inhibitor, which is composed of ferric oxide, talc, clay, etc., is ground with a ball mill, the fineness is 350 mesh, and is blended with a binder before screen printing.

The so-called ion exchange coloring means that the colored glass can be obtained by exchanging silver with sodium ions in the glass, and then reducing it to become a metal colloid. Only the part to be colored is printed on a transparent glass plate with screen ink containing silver ions. After firing and washing, only the printed part turns from yellow to brown.

Depending on the firing conditions, the color tone and density will change. Since there is no difference in reflection between the uncolored part and the colored part, there is no unnatural feeling at all, just like melting and coloring glass. The screen printing ink (printing material) of this decoration process is mostly composed of silver carbonate, copper sulfate (burning powder), iron dioxide, talcum powder, etc., and a small amount of zinc powder is used as a catalyst.

The so-called matte silk screen. The matte ink on the glass surface is printed on the soda lime glass with a screen printing plate, and washed with water after a few minutes, the effect is like a brown glass. Usually, fluoric acid is used when etching glass, which is dangerous. This ink does not contain strong acid, and the operation is relatively simple. Its matting effect is similar to that of etching.
