Instructions for purchasing thermal reflective glass

Heat reflective glass is generally coated with one or more layers of metal or its compounds such as chromium, titanium, or stainless steel on the surface of the glass, making the product rich in color. It has appropriate transmittance for visible light, high reflectance for infrared light, and high absorption rate for ultraviolet light. Therefore, it is also known as sunlight control glass and is mainly used in buildings and glass curtain walls,Glass product  .

Main purpose

Heat reflective glass has good energy-saving and decorative effects, mainly used to avoid heating due to solar radiation and in buildings with air conditioning. It is suitable for doors and windows of various buildings, glass windows of cars and ships, glass curtain walls, and various artistic decorations. Heat reflective glass can also be made into insulating glass or laminated glass window to improve its thermal insulation performance.

Characteristics of thermal reflective glass

(1) It has the ability to reflect and block light (also known as sunlight control). The transmittance of thermal reflective glass to visible light ranges from 20% to 65%, and its reflectivity to infrared and near-infrared rays with strong thermal effects in sunlight can reach up to 50%, while ordinary glass only has 15%.

(2) Unidirectional transparency. Thermal reflective glass coated with metal film has the characteristic of unidirectional image transmission. The surface metal layer of coated heat reflective glass is extremely thin, giving its light facing surface the characteristics of a mirror, and on the back side, it is as transparent as window glass. During the day, outdoor scenery can be seen indoors, but the most resemblance of the interior cannot be seen outdoors, serving as a shelter and curtain for the interior of the building. At night, on the contrary, people indoors cannot see the outside, while people outdoors can clearly see the interior.

(3) Mirror effect. Thermal reflective glass has a strong mirror effect, hence it is also known as mirror glass. Using this type of glass as a glass curtain wall can map the surrounding landscape and clouds in the sky onto the curtain wall, creating a magnificent picture and achieving perfect harmony between the building and the natural environment. Heat reflective glass comes in shades of gray, bronze, tan, gold, light blue, and bronze.
